NHS Health Check
Every year there are 120,000 patients eligible for a Free NHS Health Check in Somerset…we have an exciting opportunity for many of those Health Checks to be delivered by Pharmacy.
An NHS Health Check will give a patient their risk of having a cardiac event within the next 10 years. By a patient having this service you could help to decrease their risk of having a cardiac event. The British Heart foundation believes that around 7 million people in the UK are living with undiagnosed high blood pressure, without knowing they are at risk. We want to help identify these patients. An NHS Health Check is available to anyone 40-74, who has not been diagnosed with heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, had a stroke or on cholesterol medication. Plus they must not have had an NHS Health check in the last 5 years.
